I have been teaching creative writing since 2010, working with adults old and young, with teenagers and younger school children. I absolutely love it! There's no better feeling than helping people find the way to their words.

I run workshops and writing courses. I also mentor writers, helping them to be productive and make the most of the writing time they have. I have a particular interest in helping writers complete their first manuscripts. I read and report on manuscripts, and offer editing and copywriting services.

COSTS

Here are some examples. If you don't see what you need, just drop me a line and we can work out a bespoke package. I work carefully and methodically to give you substantial, actionable feedback.

Monthly mentoring: £160 per month  

We set writing goals together, and I read and report back on up to 5000 words which we discuss via Zoom. Great if you're trying to get started with a project, or want to make some serious progress.

Outline and first 12,000 words: £295

This is often a much more useful and productive option than a full manuscript read. Most of the things that go on to trip us up are there in the outline and early chapters. I can help you identify strengths and weaknesses, whether you've yet to complete the whole manuscript or are starting to edit.

WRITING ROOM 

I am delighted to be co-director and part of the fantastic team at Writing Room. I run Prioritise Your Writing and the Introduction to Creative Writing course, and I facilitate Feedback Fridays for WR students. I also co-host our regular writers' showcases. In summer 2023 I interviewed award-winning authors Sita Brahmachari and Hannah Lowe at the British Library as part of our 10th anniversary celebrations.
