I have been teaching creative writing since 2010, working with adults old and young, with teenagers and younger school children. I absolutely love it! There's no better feeling than helping people find the way to their words.

I run workshops and writing courses. I also mentor writers, helping them to be productive and make the most of the writing time they have. I have a particular interest in helping writers complete their first manuscripts. I read and report on manuscripts, and offer editing and copywriting services.

COSTS

Mentoring: £150 per month  We set writing goals together, and I read and report back on up to 5000 words. Great if you're trying to get started with a project, or want to make some serious progress.

Outline and first 12,000 words: £250

This is often the most useful and productive route to choose. Many of the things that go on to trip us up are there in the outline and early chapters. I can help you iidentify the key things to look out for, whether you've yet to complete the whole manuscript or are starting to edit. This option can save you lots of time in the long run.

Manuscript read & report

Up to 50,000 words: £500

50,000 - 60,000 words: £600

60,000 - 70,000 words: £700

These are detailed reports designed for manuscripts you have already edited yourself. I can bring a fresh eye when you can no longer see the wood for the trees! It usually takes between six and eight weeks for me to read and report.

Editing: £25/£30 per hour depending on project length.

WRITING ROOM 

I am delighted to be co-director and part of the fantastic team at Writing Room. I run Prioritise Your Writing and the Introduction to Creative Writing course, and I facilitate Feedback Fridays for WR students. I also co-host our regular writers' showcases. One of this year's highlights was  interviewing award-winning authors Sita Brahmachari and Hannah Lowe at the British Library as part of our 10th anniversary celebrations.
